Summer 1 and 2 - Down the Rabbit Hole!
We will be reading the story Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll to inspire our writing.
We will be writing character and setting descriptions using effective and ambitious vocabulary choice and then we will be writing descriptive poems based on the settings in the story.
To inspire our writing, we will be looking at collage in art, and the outcome will be to create a setting from the story using the collage technics we will be learning.
As Alice explores the gardens and pathways, we too will also be exploring our gardens and looking carefully at the plants around us. We will be investigating plants; identifying and describing the functions of different parts of a flowering plant and we will also explore the part that flowers play in the lifecycle of flowering plants including pollination, seed formation and seed dispersal.
We hope you will enjoy learning about our journey into Wonderland!
After half term, we will be focussing our learning on the Mad Hatter's Tea Party! We will be writing calligrams inspired by items found at a tea party, as well as designing our very own tea party, that is after we have learnt about healthy eating and how to behave ourselves at a table!
