WestlandsFirst School

Online Safety

At Westlands First School,  we take the safety of our children very seriously.  The pace of technology in today’s world is incredibly rapid, therefore E-Safety is of paramount importance.  At Westlands, we teach our children about both the benefits and dangers of using modern technology, providing them with a range of strategies for how to keep themselves and others safe when using it.

We have been working with Westacre Middle School to train our Cyber Crew, which is a body of students who represent children throughout the school and have responsibility for raising the profile of E-Safety.  Please take a look at our Cyber Crew page on the link to the right hand side to see what we have been up to!

You will find our E-Safety policy on the Policies page of the website and uploaded below.  It is very important to us that parents and carers have an opportunity to contribute to our policies, so if you would like to make any suggestions or have any feedback about the policy, please speak to Mrs Richards or fill in the form in the E-Safety Policy Consultation link to the right of this page.

Netaware is a website run by the NSPCC and has lots of useful help and advice.  It will keep you fully informed about what apps and social media your children are using, the potential risks and it will also help you to set the relevant parental controls.
