Parents Forum Profile
Westlands Parents Forum is a group who work with the school to fund raise, discuss and share views on new initiatives that help support the school to improve. It is a very informal group that anyone can come and join.
We are always looking for ideas, supporters or people who can share their skills with the school.
Thanks to all the support of the parents and carers we have recently been able to use money raised for new school playground equipment and safety matting. We have also purchased costumes for school performances and new books for the school library.
Our next target is to fund raise for an outdoor classroom shelter so that children can explore their learning through the outdoors.
Have you got any ideas about how we can fundraise? If you have, please speak to Miss Adams in Year 2 and let her know!
We have recently discussed the new reading policy, parent workshops and homework. We have asked the school for training session on Bug Club the new online reading books and games.
Please feel free to come and tell us what parent workshops you would like the school to arrange.
We are so lucky that parents and carers volunteer their time to help us run school discos, film nights and the summer fair. But we are always hoping for more people. If you can spare some time to help out at an event, have a skills like carpentry, gardening or painting or would like to be a volunteer reader please come and tell Miss Adams or Pip as all volunteers are really welcome.
