Year 4 Team
Mrs S Lines
Year 4 Teacher/Key Stage 2 Leader
I have had the privilege of working at Westlands First School for nearly 12 years. Whilst working at the school I have become well know with the children and the parents and have had the pleasure of teaching the siblings of large families who have attended the school. Currently I am a year 4 teacher and I am also responsible for the co-ordination of Key Stage 2 and Science.
I grew up in Swansea, South Wales and moved to Worcester to attend University. My first teaching job was at a school in Sandwell and I also had experience of working at Dines Green Primary in Worcester. Even though these schools were fantastic it is Westlands where I have had the most enjoyment in teaching and I hope that this will continue for the foreseeable future.
I love my job! From an early age I always said to my parents that I wanted to be a teacher and through hard work I have achieved my goal. I want to pass on to the children that I teach that they can be anything that they want to be and the sky is the limit! I have 2 children, Ruby who has just left Westlands and moved onto Middle School and Oliver who is currently in Westlands nursery. I could not have wished for my children to attend a better school than this one!
Mrs S Freestone
Year 4 Teacher (Monday to Wednesday)
I have worked at Westlands for 11 years, and have enjoyed a variety of roles. I am currently teaching in a year 4 class for 3 days and leading the curriculum for the school on one day. On Fridays, I am lucky enough to spend time at home looking after my two boys.
I thoroughly enjoy teaching the children of Westlands First School, and every year the children continue to surprise me with how thoughtful, caring and considerate they are of both the other children and grown-ups in the school. This year, we are planning some very exciting topics for the children to enjoy, and I can’t wait to teach them!
In my spare time I enjoy looking after my 2 boys, Hayden who is 4 and Mason who is 1. Most of my time with my boys is spent making cakes, playing with Lego or visiting parks and soft play! When I do get some free time, I enjoy trips to the cinema and relaxing with a good book.

Year 4 Teacher (Thursday and Friday) and PPA Cover
I’ve been a classroom teacher at Westlands for a long time! Over the years I have seen how children love to learn in the outdoor environment and I have worked hard to develop the outdoor learning areas within the school grounds. I have also had the pleasure of taking many children on regular Forest School sessions where they experience nature first hand whilst enjoying fresh air and physical activity, taking part in enjoyable but challenging lessons which complement their classroom based learning. All this in a beautiful woodland setting!
